Here is a summary of some of the Holistic Therapies I work with:

Reflexology is a complementary therapy which helps to promote balance throughout the whole body. It promotes a sense of well being and relaxation. Reflexology is extremely beneficial for a wide range of ailments. It is a non-invasive therapy which is carried out mainly on the feet but can also be done on hands, face and ears. It works on the principle that reflex areas on the feet correspond to different areas of the body. By working the feet we aim to release blockages and rid the body of congestions and toxins.

Some of the ailments that benefit from reflexology are, arthritis, anxiety, stress, sinusitis, digestive disorders, hormonal disorders, backache and much more.

The above are just a few of the problems in which reflexology has proven to be effective. It is also extremely beneficial prior to, during and after pregnancy by balancing hormone levels. It will also help to relax mother and baby soothe some of the problems associated with pregnancy like heartburn, morning sickness, constipation, sciatica and backache.

Reflexology can be carried out during pregnancy once medical consent is given and no complications involved in pregnancy. Jennyfer specialises on Reflexology for women health.

Dien Chan Zone – Facial Reflexology

Dien Chan, is a simple and highly effective manual technique designed to restore and maintain balance and wellness within the body. Founded in 1980 by Professor Bùi Quôc Châu of Hoi Chi Minh City (Saigon, Vietnam), it originated as a form of acupuncture and developed as a multi-reflexology utilising the body’s natural reflex-nerve and meridian systems.

Dien Chan Zone whilst honouring the Vietnamese tradition adapts the method to meet the needs of the Western public. Notably, this has led to lighter pressure and greater openness and connection between therapist and recipient.

Dien Chan Zone is reputably beneficial for common ailments such as:
Sinus problems
Neck and back pain
Digestive problems
Migraines and headaches
Panic attacks and anxiety
Menstrual pains and hormonal issues
Water retention, cellulite and heavy legs
Muscle and joint aches e.g. cramps, lumbago, sciatica

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular Acupuncture (or Ear Acupuncture) is a microsystem of acupuncture, a specialised therapy where acupuncture points on the ear are treated. There are over 200 acupuncture points on each ear. The outer ear acts as a switchboard to the brain. Each acupuncture point being treated triggers electrical impulses from the ear via the brain, to the specific part of the body being treated. Functional MRI (fMRI) shows that Auricular Acupuncture triggers an effect in areas of the brain specific to the corresponding zone on the ear. Each point treated releases endorphins which block pain receptors and elevates levels of adenosine, a natural local pain reliever, creating change in the targeted anatomical area.

Reiki treats the person holistically, including body, mind and emotions, promoting overall wellbeing and is well known for aiding in the recovery processes.

Reiki is a gentle but powerful ancient form of hands-on healing which helps balance and strengthens the body’s natural healing abilities while creating deep relaxation and a sense of calm and peacefulness.  It involves the laying on of hands by the Reiki practitioner in a series of hand positions that span the whole body while concentrating on our seven chakras. Reiki is a Japanese word, Rei meaning cosmic or universal energy and Ki meaning life force. Therefore Reiki is a spiritually guided Life Force Energy and is the energy that flows in and around our body. When  Life Force Energy is flowing freely it helps maintain health and vitality and a sense of well being. When the flow of Life Force Energy is disrupted, weakened or blocked this results in diminished function of the organs and cells and we are more prone to illness, stress and depression.

Life Force Energy is responsive to thoughts and feelings. Negative thoughts and feelings which arise from situations of emotional and or physical trauma, toxicity, nutritional depletion, stress, anxiety, lack of self-love, unhealthy lifestyle or relationships all have the effect of disrupting the flow of Life Force Energy.  As the negative thoughts and feelings disrupt the flow Life Force Energy can become stagnant and blocked and remains in the aura as dense energy. Reiki heals by flowing through the aura and flowing through the affected area charging them with positive energy.

Reiki healing balances and strengthens the body’s natural energy, promotes the body’s ability to heal itself and seeks to restore the body’s vital energy which has become unbalanced.

The idea behind bodywork is that people learn, or are forced by injury or stress into unnatural ways of moving or holding their bodies. This causes discomfort and may contribute to health problems.

The main goal of Holistic Bodywork is to better flexibility and extension thus promoting musculoskeletal alignment, increasing the range of motion; reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function.

As part of manual therapy, it uses different techniques to suit every particular case, which might include mobilisation and manipulation of the muscles bones and joints, stretches, massage and pressure point.

This is a form of therapy that works both for prevention of lesion and pain relief. Your therapist can also instruct you on exercises you can do at home as part of the treatment.

The aim of bodywork is to realign and reposition the body to allow natural, graceful movement. Bodywork, along with identifying possible contributing causes of unnatural movement and posture, is perfect for reducing stress and easing the pain.

We use massage, pressure, myofascial release, mobilisation and manipulation of muscles bones and joints to achieve our goals.
